* A crisp, sunshiney autumn day
* Devonshire Tea
* One 10-month-old baby
* About 30 cooing, adoring grown-ups
* A ride in an open-sided jeep with orange chairs
* The animals of the savannah, roaming free
Toss in a gentle stroll through forests and along river-banks, to taste
Method:
Mix well and serve liberally.
Yields: 18 baby belly-laughs, 10 squeals of delight, six episodes of over-excited bouncing, and five chances to hold hands with your beloved.
For added flavour, when baby is exhausted from all the excitement and starts sucking her fingers and looking rather concerned, strap her into the carrier where she will snuggle like a meerkat and fall asleep on your chest, gently snoring into your neck just like she did when she was tiny. Kiss her forehead.
Yields: pure bliss.
(ps. We were at Werribee Zoo)
Definitely the ingredients for a perfect day. Look at the joy on Madeleine’s face! (And I love the last one of her sucking her finger!). We like Werribee Zoo too. You take such great photos!
Thank you my dear! It sure was a wonderful day. Hey we should arrange a Melbourne zoo visit soon!
I love this post Naomi. Naturally i love the pics of Madeleine (especially the one with the mouth wide open – she and i are kindered spirits) but also the animals. The pic of the Hippos is great! You are one talented lady. Txxx
Thank you lovely, but I think I have to give Mr B credit for the adorable sandy-nosed hippos
Ha! Those hippos are so adorable. Nice work on the photos!

Ah, what a beautiful Autumn day indeed! My little boy turned 11 months old yesterday. My twin brother and I took him to Werribee Zoo a few months ago and he slept in his carrier on my chest too. So snuggly and adorable. I must take him back to see Leroy the handsome rhino!
Oh how lovely. And our littles are almost the same age!
Yes please – I will take double that dose of Happiness, and repeat it for at least a week
Gorgeous photos – thanks for sharing xxx
